It all started with coffee.

Rachel and Jennifer first crossed paths as colleagues at work. They soon discovered they shared a love for drinking wine and hate-watching silly reality TV shows, in addition to being avid writers and readers. It wasn’t long before they were meeting early in the morning at a coffee shop to write before heading to the office. Early morning meet-ups turned into weekends spent writing at local cafes for hours on end, taking breaks to talk books or about the latest show they wanted to hate-watch.

From working the same nine-to-five job and writing at coffee shops, to becoming overly caffeinated moms and attending writer’s conferences together, Jennifer and Rachel’s friendship only continued to brew. The idea of starting their own business came when Jennifer was in a medicated fog after having lung surgery in the summer of 2023. She shared the idea with Rachel, expecting it to come across as some unrealistic dream, but Rachel was immediately on board with zero hesitation.

That wild dream became Book & Brew Creative LLC.

What makes Book & Brew unique?

We may be a small press publishing contemporary romance and women’s fiction, but we see ourselves more as a co-op. Each author—Rachel and Jennifer— publishes, cross-markets, and collaborates under the Book & Brew Creative brand while including two very important elements in each book:

romance and coffee!

Our authors independently connect with editors, designers, and other industry professionals to help make their book a success. We are so grateful to have industry experts provide Book & Brew authors with guidance, support, and, of course, amazing results!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Book & Brew may be an independent publishing press, but we see ourselves more as a co-op. Each author commissions their own editors, cover designers, and industry experts to provide them with the most professional end product possible. This means authors may share connections with one another and work with the same editors and cover designers. Only books written by Jennifer and Rachel are being published under Book & Brew at this time, but we are open to having other authors join the “co-op” team in the future.

  • We currently publish contemporary romance and women’s fiction. However, we HATE labels! Rachel writes spicy romance following the romance story structure we adore with the “Happily Ever After” we all look forward to! Jennifer writes women’s fiction with romantic elements focusing on unique relationships and friendships that also intertwine spicy, romantic scenes. We celebrate creating stories that don’t need to fit into a specific genre—they only need to fit the author’s vision!

  • Book & Brew currently offers paperback and eBook formats of our books. We hope to add audiobooks to our inventory in the future and, perhaps, some special edition hardcovers!

  • No. Well…sort of. While both Rachel and Jennifer write their own separate stories within their genres, they do have fun crossover elements that link their books in unique ways. For example, there may be a shop in Rachel’s story that is mentioned in Jennifer’s or one of Jennifer’s characters may pop up in one of Rachel’s stories. There are definitely Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout each book, but the stories are all standalone.
